Kiss Make the Cover of Rolling Stones, Not Without Controversy
After almost forty years of the release of their first album, Kiss has finally made it on the cover of the Rolling Stones magazine.
With the band being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year, it isn’t surprising that the photo, taken in 1975, and which has the band original lineup has been picked for the cover.
But that hasn’t come without its controversies since Ace Frehley and Peter Criss are no longer band members in making an exit from the band since the early Eighties.
As the cover story reveals, Simmons sums up the backbiting between old and new bandmates, in saying, “I keep thinking about Ace and Peter. What are they doing now? Where are they? It’s gotta be close to the end. How do you make any money? How do you pay your bills?”
But that’s not all – even Stanley and Simmons don’t see eye to eye for the most part in the way they treat their brothers. It also explains why there won’t be any reunion tour featuring the first ever lineup of Kiss.
Of course, both Stanley and Simmons had offered Criss and Frehley to jam with the new band members sometime back but they refused.
Alternatively, Simmons believes that the both of them don’t deserve to “wear the paint” anymore. Frehley, on the other hand, believes that they’re reluctant to perform together with the old members as this will have to lead to a reunion tour.
Simmons, also talks about his age, and says that his touring days are almost done anyways.
