Wedding favors and cutting costs
When the wedding gets close, your stress levels will automatically shoot sky high. It helps to plan well ahead so that you can avoid this and spend prudently as well. One of the things you need to plan ahead for are wedding favors.
If you want a fairly standard design, this will not be too much of a problem. However, if you are after personalized favors, you need to get it out of the way quite early. Personalized favors take long time to be made, so start the process of looking for a supplier very early; several months before the wedding would be ideal. This way you can get the designing, proofing & sampling phases cleared long before your wedding day arrives. It also helps to start early, because you have time to dump a supplier and move onto another one without being hassled about time.
One way to cut costs would be to make the favors yourself. If you plan ahead, you can bake the cakes early, wrap them up nicely and even add a personalized touch like a personalized ribbon etc. In the same vein of cutting costs, think about buying chair slipcovers, table cloths and other wedding linen. Initially it may seem like a big cost to you, but it’s not. It can be much cheaper than renting and you can sell the whole lot off after the wedding. You won’t recover 100 percent of the cost, but when you consider that it was cheaper than renting in the first place, the money you get from selling it will represent a nice saving.
